About
Central State Beauty Academy was in existence quite some time before the establishment of the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology-- created by the Oklahoma State Legislature to license and regulate both schools of cosmetology and beauty salons. Central State Beauty academy was one of the first schools licensed under the new program and operated for many years near downtown Oklahoma City.
Present ownership acquired the Academy in 1973 and moved it to new, more modern facilities located on South West 36th Street (Grand Boulevard) in Oklahoma City. After almost 15 years in very pleasant surroundings, increased enrollment numbers necessitated finding a facility into which the school could continue to expand. OKC Market Square (formerly Outlet Malls of America) provided such a location, just west of Council Road on Northwest Expressway.
The Academy is now located on the west side of the mall. It has 8,000 square feet of space which has been custom designed for the ultimate in professional cosmetology training, including Sorisa skin care equipment, 50 styling stations and separate classrooms.
